It is hard to believe that 65 years has passed since the brave men and women of the allied forces started the second front against Hitler and his Nazi dictatorship. I for one will be paying homage to those who laid down their lives in order that we might be free of the Third Reich. My fellow Soviet Ansestors paid the highest price of any nation, with more than 27,000,000 people dying during the Great Patriotic War.
If you do nothing else this weekend, please spare a couple of minutes of quiet contemplation on Sunday morning as a mark of respect for those who cannot be on the beaches of Normandy to mark this important date.
